2014 Hoover Presidential Foundation Celebration Banquet: Charting the Course - Thursday, Oct. 23
We invite you to join us Thursday evening, October 23, 2014 at the Iowa City Sheraton Hotel for
the Hoover Presidential Foundation Celebration Banquet: Charting the Course. We'll bring together
descendants of three different Presidential families to talk about the values and principles that made
their families famous, and how they still apply today. Ready to hear more about the largest temporary
exhibit ever at the Hoover Presidential Library-Museum and how you can participate? Don't miss
our official launch announcement. Join us for an exciting evening and a great meal among friends!
Our keynote speaker is John Taft, CEO of RBC Wealth Management and great-grandson of U.S.
President William Howard Taft. John's distinguished family is well-known for their commitment
to integrity. He will share his belief in the importance of staying true to his core principles of
purposefulness, humility, accountability, foresight and integrity, and how those values can be
adapted by organizations like the Hoover Presidential Foundation.
But wait, there's more! After John Taft finishes his address, he will be joined on stage for a coffee
table discussion with descendants of two other U.S. Presidents: Clifton Truman Daniel, great-
grandson of President Harry Truman, and Margaret Hoover, great-granddaughter of Herbert
Hoover. You may have heard Clifton Truman Daniel at a previous Hoover event - he has a great
sense of humor and is a wonderful story teller! Margaret Hoover will be back from New York and
is always entertaining!
We will also present Uncommon Public Service Awards to four very deserving Iowa state
legislators: Rep. David Heaton, Rep. Steven Olson, Sen. Nancy Boettger and Sen. Amanda Ragan.
And last, but not least, co-chairs Margaret Hoover and Jim Stein will unveil details about the
"Making of the Great Humanitarian: Herbert Hoover and WWI," the largest special exhibit ever
to appear at the Hoover Presidential Library-Museum.
So, we invite you to come aboard and help us celebrate a year of growth, then take a look through
the spyglass as we chart the course for 2015!
