2009 Annual Members Dinner
Held on May 1, 2009, at the beautiful Brown Deer Golf Course in Coralville, the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library Association Annual Dinner was a jump-jivin' affair this year. One hundred and forty guests were treated to surprise entertainment by the University of Iowa's Flying LindyHawks competitive swing dance performance troupe. These fantastic young swing dancers not only had our guests tapping their toes as they watched them perform to the sounds of great musicians such as Benny Goodman and Glenn Miller, but several of our attendees also tapped their feet as they took a swing around the floor with the LindyHawk dancers.
Hoover Presidential Library Association's special guests were the 2009 Uncommon Public Service recipients Senator Dennis Black, and Representative Jeff Kaufmann. Hoover Library-Museum's special guests were docents Richard McGaughy, Kathleen McLaughlin, and John and Phyllis Langenhan.
